Commonly referred to as Xenon these powerful lights are actually Metal Halide. The name Xenide is derived from the words Xenon (Xen) an inert gas with cleansing properties used in the arc chamber and Halide (ide) the metal salts added to the arc chamber that vaporize when charged with electricity to create the light plasma.
